Album of the Year: ‘Witness,’ Angela Easterling
After a seven-year break, Upstate singer/songwriter Angela Easterling came back strong with “Witness,” an irresistibly tuneful collection of songs about heartbreak, motherhood and life in general. Special shout out to Easterling’s cover of Woody Guthrie’s “Deportee,” a never-more-true song about how we sometimes look at those different from us.

Angela’s Holiday Song, “Party ‘Round My Favorite Tree” was #1 on The Alternate Root Top Ten Songs Playlist for Dec. 14. It was also played by Buddy Miller & Jim Lauderdale on the Holiday edition of The Buddy and Jim Show on Outlaw Country, on Sirius XM.
